Party like it’s 1999!

As I said in my last blog entry, I am doing TWO blogs today. So without futher a do here is the second one!

In a few days time I turn the big 1-8 which is all very exciting and I’ve been planning what I’m doing to the death. For this blog I thought I’d show you the outfit I’ve chosen for my big night.

After careful consideration of all my clothes (and I have A LOT!) this is the outfit that I will be wearing for my night out in the city!

To finish off the look I used cool watermelon lipstick from maybelline new york, revlon photo ready mascara, LA Colours foundation and revlon pencil eyeliner.

I put my hair in a messy bun and added a bow made out of black lace.

I hope you find this useful for any up coming birthdays/parties/dates or whatever the occasion you are looking for inspiration is for!

Nailed it!

Hey guys!

Firstly I want to say I am very sorry for not posting a new blog for ages, but not to worry because today I’m posting TWO! This being the first of which.

As you may have guessed from the title, this post is going to be about nails…again. I’ve done a few showing how I like to do my nails and this is no different.

Image

According to my sister “it looks really messy” but that’s why I love it.

The steps are:

1. Paint base coat (I used black matte from BYS) leave to dry
2. Chose top colour (I used a turquoise from Rubi cosmetics.)
3. Paint chose colour onto a make up sponge and gentle dab onto nails. Starting quite hard and getting softer as you go down the nail.

If you’re careful enough you can create an ombre effect which looks cool.

If you like this idea give it a try and see what you think for yourself!

What I used:
Black Matte Nail Enamel from BYS – $6
Turquoise Nail Enamel from Rubi – $6
Make up sponge (10 pack) from $2 shop – $2.00

I wear my sunglasses at night.

Okay, I totally do NOT wear my sunglasses at night and that is totally just a line from a song, but today I got creative with some sunglasses and decided to post about the results!

If you keep up with any trends, you may have noticed that embellished sunglasses have suddenly become very popular. I’ve seen a few pairs I liked, what I didn’t like, however, was the price tag!

If you’re like me and want to get something bang on trend but don’t want to fork out loads of cash (that you may not have) then here is what you do.

Go to a $2 shop/Pound land (or the equivalent for what country you’re in) and pick up a cheap pair of sunglasses. This works best with thicker rimmed glasses as there’s more space for your embellishments.

Pick up some superglue/silicon glue and some beads of your choice and you’re ready to start!

All you have to do is dip your beads into the glue and stick onto the glasses as desired.

Tip: I found using tweezers to dip my beads into the glue and stick them on made it a lot easier.

Here’s the results from my experimentation with this and I’m really happy with how they turned out!

DIY Fashion!

So, I’m a tiny bit obsessed with Tumblr, and I ALWAYS see collard shirts with these cute embellishments featuring chains on the collars and I’ve wanted one for ages. I was clearing out some old stuff earlier and I came across this chain which I’d kept from an old bracelet (the fastening I had previously made into a necklace.)

I thought that I could use this as the starting point for my collar embellishment and then dug around in my box of earrings until I found my sparrow earrings, which I thought were perfect considering the shirt I wanted to update is covered in little birds.

Here is the end result:

There is literally no trick to this, all you need is some chain and some cheap earrings (if I remember rightly those earrings were $2.50) and voila, cheap way to update a shirt.

Love, Daisy.
