Party like it’s 1999!

As I said in my last blog entry, I am doing TWO blogs today. So without futher a do here is the second one!

In a few days time I turn the big 1-8 which is all very exciting and I’ve been planning what I’m doing to the death. For this blog I thought I’d show you the outfit I’ve chosen for my big night.

After careful consideration of all my clothes (and I have A LOT!) this is the outfit that I will be wearing for my night out in the city!

With some killer heels this outfit is perfect for a night out partying.

Let’s break it down:

To finish off the look I used cool watermelon lipstick from maybelline new york, revlon photo ready mascara, LA Colours foundation and revlon pencil eyeliner.

I put my hair in a messy bun and added a bow made out of black lace.

I hope you find this useful for any up coming birthdays/parties/dates or whatever the occasion you are looking for inspiration is for!

Nailed it!

Hey guys!

Firstly I want to say I am very sorry for not posting a new blog for ages, but not to worry because today I’m posting TWO! This being the first of which.

As you may have guessed from the title, this post is going to be about nails…again. I’ve done a few showing how I like to do my nails and this is no different.

Image

According to my sister “it looks really messy” but that’s why I love it.

The steps are:

1. Paint base coat (I used black matte from BYS) leave to dry
2. Chose top colour (I used a turquoise from Rubi cosmetics.)
3. Paint chose colour onto a make up sponge and gentle dab onto nails. Starting quite hard and getting softer as you go down the nail.

If you’re careful enough you can create an ombre effect which looks cool.

If you like this idea give it a try and see what you think for yourself!

What I used:
Black Matte Nail Enamel from BYS – $6
Turquoise Nail Enamel from Rubi – $6
Make up sponge (10 pack) from $2 shop – $2.00

Glitter manicure!

Hey guys!

They other day I was on Sugarscape and I read an article in glitter manicures. I completely forgot about it until about half an hour ago when I found some glitter my sister used to use for arts and crafts with the kids she used to look after.

I decided it would look quite cute if I painted all my nails black and put glitter on one, which is exactly what I did. (The article showed putting glitter on all nails which looked just as good.)

Image

If you think this is hard, you’d be very wrong.

There are three steps:
1. Paint your nails any colour you like.
2. Add glitter to one or all nails
3. add a top coat.

and voila, your cute, unique manicure is done.

Lots of love,
Daisy x

The gym

Hey guys!

I’ve been offline on pretty much everything recently because last Friday I started at a gym. With a personal trainer.

Let me tell you, my personal trainer is one of the sweetest people I know, but when it comes to the gym she’s like the spawn of Satan. Which is good, I guess if you want to get fit.

“3 sets of 10 squats, go.”
“2,000m on the rower, go.”
“3 sets of 10 crunches, go.”
“Skipping, 10 minutes, go.”

etc etc etc.

My workout routine changes daily and I’m there for an hour a time. I go four times a week (Tuesday’s – Friday’s) and each time I go I always feel better afterwards. (After sweating a bucket and gasping for air.)

If 13 year old Daisy met me now she’d probably shocked but hopefully proud. Never did I think I would be one of those people who would workout for an hour at a time, let alone step foot in a gym. But now it’s something I live for.

I’m not one of those “gym is my life blah blah blah” people and I certainly never will be. I complain like hell when I’m at the gym because I think Rhonda is pushing me too hard (which is pretty much her job,) and I still have my chocolate fix but I’m already dreaming of when I’ll see my first results from my hard work and it’s a day I look forward to so much.

On top of going to the gym my portion sizes have decreased and I am eating a hell of a lot more fruit and veg. I’ve also started keeping a “CM Journal.” This isn’t something crazy that I’m going to become obsessed with. But every Wednesday I’m going to measure my waist, hips, bust and thighs to see how I’m pushing a long.

I’ve been taught that if you’re wanting to get fitter loosing CM’s is just as important as loosing weight.

I hope this is something for you to think about.

Until next time,
Daisy x

Outfit of the day!

Image

First of all, sorry for the awful picture but it’s the best I could do as I’m about to go to bed.

Okay, lets go.

Today the weather has been all over the place. This morning it started out nice and sunny (so my outfit started out as the skirt and the tank top on its own,) then this afternoon it became windy and cold which is where the socks and jumper came in.

This is a really comfortable outfit for just lounging around the house or meeting up with friends. Simply wear with ballet flats or black converse to finish off the look.

1. Jumper – $40 JayJays
2. Tank top – $13 Glassons
3. Skirt – $20 Cotton On
4. Socks – £4 Tizz’s

Shopping!

If there is one thing you should know about me it’s that I like to shop. A lot. Not just for clothes and shoes, but for CDs, DVDs, Concert tickets etc etc.

This post is about a couple of things I’ve brought recently (and a couple of things I brought a while ago.)

I shop mainly at places like JayJays, Cotton on and Glassons. I also love boohoo.com for shoes.

Image

Okay, so none of these pieces are from Boohoo or Glassons, in fact the shoes and bag are from The Warehouse but that doesnt make my statement about loving shoes from Boohoo any less true.

This outfit is easily transformed from day to night. As is, it could be a casual look (or to make even more casual go for black or white converse,) but to make into a night outfit simply swap out the bag for a cute clutch, I use this studded one from Cotton On.

Image

This out fit is really cute and versatile.

1. Bat tank top – $15 Jay Jays
2. Black Skater skirt – $20 Cotton On
3. Bag – $15 The Warehouse
4. Wedges – $45 The Warehouse
5. Clutch – $15 Cotton On

This outfit is really easy to wear and cheap too, coming in at $110 for all five pieces. What a bargain!

Until next time,

The Script!

Hey guys!

So a week ago tomorrow, I saw The Script live in New Zealand. If you went: WEREN’T THEY SO AMAZING!?

If you didn’t here’s what I have to say on it.

I went with my close friend Christine and we got there about half an hour before doors opened. The line wasn’t that long considering and when we got in we ended up THREE ROWS FROM THE FRONT. It was incredible!

I feel I should talk about the support act, Brooke Duff. I hadn’t heard much of her stuff and she did a lot of covers but she’s was pretty good. I don’t normally get to excited about support acts unless I know and love their music before hand.

She opened with a brilliant cover of Heart attack by Demi Lovato which I have had stuck in my head for the past three weeks and I love it. She did a few other things, including trying to get the audience to do The Harlem Shake. She then got some girls up on stage to dance while she did her most recent single Say to you which was pretty good. Overall she was a decent support but not my favourite from all the gigs I’ve been too (and I’ve been to a lot.)

The Script opened with Good ol’ days which is one of my favourite songs from #3 and it really got the crowd pumping. Danny owned the stage and it was incredible!

Image

After that they did We Cry, Breakeven and Science and Faith, all brilliant songs. Then we get to The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, obviously this is their most well known song and Danny had the crowd sing the first verse acapella which sounded amazing. If you’ve seen The Script you will know what I’m talking about.

During TMWCBM Danny really didn’t have to do any work as we did it for him. (Think The A-Team at an Ed Sheeran concert or Five Colours in Her Hair at a Mcfly gig.)

The Script were pretty much living up to my expectations for what they would be like live. Then they did If You Could See Me Now and totally blew my mind. That song always makes me really emotional and when they did it I was so happy because it’s my favourite song they’ve ever done. Everything about the performance of IYCSMN was incredible. I don’t really have enough words to say how amazing it was.

Image

The setlist from there went like this:
Before the Worst
If You Ever Come Back (bloody incredible!)
Talk You Down
Nothing.

Then we got to I’m Yours. I’ve loved this song for so long and when they did it I was over the moon. Danny explained the reason behind this song to us and when he did it was so full of emotion and just so beautiful.

Image
Six Degrees of Separation came next and as you could expect it was amazing. I love this song and it was the first song off #3 that I listened to on repeat. It’s really the song that made me fall in love with The Script all over again.

The last song was For The First Time and it was a great way to end the main setlist.

The Encore was You Wont Feel A Thing and Hall Of Fame which were both incredible and a great way to finish the night on a high!

If you haven’t seen The Script live, I definitely recommend it. Their energy is amazing, the passion they have for what they do is obvious and they’re just an all round incredible live act.

I have nothing but praise for this band and I will 100% be going to see them again if they come back to New Zealand.
